How to Play Beleaguered Castle Solitaire with Confidence

Ready to tackle Beleaguered Castle Solitaire? This solo card game is a fun challenge that starts with all 52 cards laid out face-up, giving you a clear view of the battlefield. You’ll set up four Aces in a vertical column as your foundation piles, then deal the rest into eight rows of six cards each, split evenly on both sides of the Aces. The goal is to build up those foundations from Ace to King, suit by suit, by shifting cards around the rows.

Here’s how it works: you can only move the top card of each row, either to the foundation if it fits or to another row if it’s one rank lower, no matter the suit. Say you’ve got a 7 of Hearts—you could drop it on an 8 of Clubs if it’s free. Empty a row? Any card can fill it, giving you some breathing room to shuffle things around. It’s a game of planning and patience, perfect for a quiet moment or a little mental stretch—can you clear the castle and claim victory?
