Royal Rendezvous Solitaire
How to Play Royal Rendezvous Solitaire and Unite the Court
Ready to step into the elegant world of Royal Rendezvous Solitaire? This solo card game uses two standard decks, 104 cards total, and sets you up with a royal challenge that’s all about building a grand court. You start by pulling out all eight Aces and four 2s—one 2 of each suit. Lay out four Aces in a top row, then below them, set up a second row with a 2, 2, A, A, A, A, 2, 2 pattern, matching the suits of the Aces above. Deal 16 cards face-up below that in two rows of eight to form your reserve, and the rest become your stock pile, flipped one at a time to a waste pile. Your goal is to build 12 foundation piles: the top four Aces go up to Queens by suit, the bottom four Aces build by twos (A, 3, 5, 7, 9, J, K) by suit, and the four 2s stack by twos (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, Q) by suit, with Kings crowning the top row once their matching suits are complete below.
Here’s how it unfolds: play any reserve card or the top waste card to a foundation if it fits the sequence. No tableau stacking here—it’s all about feeding the foundations directly. If a reserve spot empties, fill it right away with the top waste card or, if that’s dry, the next stock card. Flip through the stock one by one, playing what you can, but there’s no redeal, so every draw matters. It’s a smooth, strategic game with a regal payoff when all 16 Kings and Queens line up, perfect for a thoughtful solo break. Can you bring the royal court together and finish the rendezvous?
